Colleen M Badke

Instructor of Pediatrics (Critical Care)

I attended college at the University of Notre Dame, studying Biology and Spanish. In 2013, I graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine with an MD/MPH and focus in leadership development, then completed a Pediatrics residency and Chief residency from McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. I subsequently completed a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship from the same institution, then joined as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics in 2020. 

Maria L Dowell

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine)

My medical training began at the University of North Carolina where I worked in a research laboratory that focused on diseases of the lung.  Several years later I received my MD degree from that same institution and subsequently moved to Chicago to complete a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. Craig B Langman

Professor of Pediatrics (Nephrology)

–Professor Craig B. Langman, is the first Isaac A. Abt, MD, Professor of Kidney Diseases, emeritus and Tenured Professor of Pediatrics at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University,, and director of the two Davita Children’s Dialysis Centers in Chicago. His funded research focuses on the basic and clinical expression of inherited or acquired disorders of calcium, phosphorus vitamin D, and FGF23 metabolism, mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases in children with obesity or chronic kidney disease, pediatric hypertension, inherited genetic diseases (cystinosis, oxalosis, kidney stone...

Carolynn L Price

Instructor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Price is a pediatric hospitalist in the Division of Hospital Based Medicine as well as an Instructor of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed a Chief Residency year in which she had experiences on hospital administration committees focused on patient safety and quality improvement. She has an interest in both undergraduate and graduate medical education.

Sally Reynolds

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine)

I graduated from Loyola Medical School and did pediatric residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Children's Memorial Hospital / Northwestern University. I served as the medical director of the emergency department at Children's Memorial and Lurie Children's hospital. I'm currently the medical director of risk management. I'm very involved in disaster planning for children and hospital preparedness.

Colleen D Peyton

Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences and Pediatrics

I am interested in early infant behaviors, especially spontaneous movement, and the relationship to developmental trajectories.

Waheeda Samady

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

My research is focused on patient and family communication and education, specifically for atopic disease management and prevention in young children.  As the Director of Clinical Research at Northwestern's Center for Food Allergy and Asthma, I am engaged in projects involving anaphylaxis, food allergy, atopic dermatitis, and asthma. I am also the hospital lead for the Pediatric Research Inpatient in Settings (PRIS) projects, a national collaboration dedicated to improving and advancing care of inpatient pediatric medicine. 

Adolfo J Ariza

Research Associate Professor of Pediatrics

My research focus is on improving clinical care related to nutritional status of children and health behaviors, particularly dietary, physical activity. I am also interested in prevention of chronic conditions from infancy onward. I have first-hand experience in the bi-directional processes of integrating research knowledge into clinical care and developing research questions based on clinical experience. Amy K Johnson

Research Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Adolescent Medicine)

My primary areas of research interest are adolescent sexual and reproductive health and surveillance and control of sexually transmitted diseases. My research focuses on high priority areas of HIV/STI intervention implementation, risk assessment and developing prevention packages specifically for adolescents, with a focus on young women. A new area of interest is understanding the ethical implications of community participation in HIV cure and biomedical prevention research.

I got M.D and Ph.D degrees in China and post-doctoral training in Japan and U.S.A.
