Deepa R Nair

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine)

My primary interests involve medical student & resident education, care of the acutely ill child & parental education on health maintenance for their children, preventative medicine, and child safety/injury prevention.

Rebecca Stephen

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Rebecca Stephen, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. She leads Quality and Safety initiatives, including serving as the institutional physician lead for the national collaborative Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes.  She also serves as a Quality Improvement Specialist for Telehealth Programs and is a member of the Center for Quality and Safety at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

Katelyn E Burgess

Instructor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

As a pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Burgess cares for children in a variety of clinical settings, including taking care of patients who are admitted to Lurie Children's Hospital, and seeing children at Lurie's Immediate Care clinic in Lincoln Park. She is also the Site Leader for Lurie's pediatric consultant group at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, where she helps to care for pediatric rehab patients.Additionally, Dr. Burgess supervises pediatrics residents at their primary care clinic in Lincoln Park, and she volunteers as a Clinical Skills Small Group Leader for medical students at Northwestern Univers...

Chitra M Sachs

Instructor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

I am a board certified pediatrician with primary interests in the care of both the well and preterm or ill newborn. In addition to newborn care I provide procedural moderate sedation for pediatric patients of all ages.

Mary L Kreiter

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Endocrinology)

I enjoy caring for children with disorders of growth, puberty and the adrenal, pituitary and thyroid gland. I also enjoy care of children with diabetes

Rudy J Allen

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

My clinical interest is the treatment of childhood cancer, particularly tumors affecting the central nervous system. I also have particular interest in brain tumor survivorship, including the diagnosis and treatment of long term effects of therapy for childhood central nervous system tumors.  I have a strong interest in quality and safety improvement as Medical Director of the 17th Floor Inpatient Unit as well as the Ambulatory Infusion Center.

Pooja Patel

Instructor of Pediatrics (Rheumatology)

Dr. Patel joined the Division of Rheumatology in 2020. She is experienced in all areas of general pediatric rheumatology but has a special clinical and research interest in complex rheumatic diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus and systemic vasculitis. Dr. Patel is fascinated by the pathophysiology of autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. She enjoys taking on complex cases with diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and tailoring immunosuppressive therapies to help patients achieve the best quality of life possible. Stephannie Baehl Voller

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology)

Dr. Voller is a neonatologist in the neonatal intensive care units at Prentice Women's Hospital and Lurie Children's Hospital. She also follows high-risk infants in the NICU-Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Clinic. Her interests include identifying early risk factors and potential interventions that can lead to improved neurodevelopmental outcomes in premature infants.

Susan M Fuchs

Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine)

My research and clinical interests include topics in pediatric emergency medicine such as analgesia and sedation, pediatric resuscitation, prehospital (EMS) care of children, and education of those involved in emergency care of children.I am the Co-PI of the Illinois Emergency Medical Services for Children program, now based at Lurie Children's and have helped to establish prehospital pediatric protocols, and criteria to assure that emergency departments throughout Illinois are equipped to care for children (facility recognition).

Mary Eileen McBride

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology) and Medical Education

Clinically, I am a pediatric cardiac intensivist and I care for children of all ages with congenital and acquired heart disease who require critical care. Academically, I focus on medical education through the teaching and learning of students, trainees, staff and faculty. Through this work, I use simulation as my primary medium as well as small and large group didactic sessions in teaching cardiac physiology, resuscitation, communication, teamwork, feedback and coaching.
