Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

My clinical interests include health and nutrition, obesity, procedural sedation, and the care and coordination of the medically complex child.My educational interests include the oversight and evaluation of pediatric residents.

Nazia Husain

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology)

I am an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and an attending physician in Cardiology at Lurie Children’s Hospital. I completed a post-graduate degree in public health from Yale University with a focus in epidemiology and biostatistics; clinical fellowship in pediatric cardiology from Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Ohio State University) and non-invasive cardiac imaging at Children’s Hospital Boston (Harvard Medical School). Michael C Verre

Instructor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

As a hospital-based pediatrician, Dr. Verre cares for infants and children admitted to Prentice Women's Hospital and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. He is involved in medical student and pediatric resident education and has a special interest in immigrant and refugee health as well as infants exposed to opioids.

Lacey L Kruse

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Dermatology) and Dermatology

I practice general pediatric dermatology with special interests in pediatric skin cancer, pigmented lesions in children, and atopic dermatitis.  My other clinical interests include pediatric melanoma, other forms of pediatric skin cancer, birthmarks, and inflammatory skin disorders.

Robyn Ann Bockrath

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine) and Medical Education

As an academic hospital-based pediatrician, Dr. Bockrath's clinical and academic interests include general pediatric medicine and medical education.  Specifically she is invested in curriculum development and mentorship in Undergraduate Medical Education Problem Based Learning, Pediatric Clerkship and Teaching Selective.

Jennifer D Kusma

Instructor of Pediatrics (Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care)

I am a primary care pediatrician within the Division of Advanced General Pediatrics, and have a particular academic interest in health care policy and understanding how children access health care. I am passionate about improving access to primary care for disadvantaged youth, and having safety net policies in place so that all children have access to high quality care. 

Joseph M Runde

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition)

My clinical inteterest is pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, focusing on dietary therapy for control of inflammation in Crohn's disease and the influence of the gut microbiome on childhood health. Additionally, I am focused on a deeper understanding of surgical outcomes in children with ulcerative colitis and improving disease surveillance after surgery.

Debora Matossian

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Nephrology)

Debora Matossian, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Feinberg School of Medicine and nephrology attending physician at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. Dr. Matossian has completed her pediatric nephrology training at Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago (now Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital) and concomitantly received a Master’s of Science in Clinical Investigation at Northwestern University. Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology)

I completed by fellowship in Neonatology at Northwestern and have been an attending at both Lurie Children's and Prentice Women's Hospital since graduating in 2015. I have a passion for simulation-based education and training and am part of the faculty in the kidSTAR Medical Education Program at Lurie Children's.

Lawrence A Gray

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics)

My interest in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics covers a broad range of topics--all which are related to the optimal developmental and behavioral functioning of the child and the family. I have spent the majority of my professional time focusing on the care of the fussy baby and developing new models of clinical care and support for the family.My expertise, leadership, training in developmental and behavioral pediatrics has many facets and include mentoring from Dr. T Berry Brazelton, Dr. Steven Porges, and Mr. Fred Rogers.
