Loretta S Li

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. Loretta Li is a pediatric oncologist with clinical expertise in hematologic malignancies, including leukemia and lymphoma. She has a particular interest in caring for patients with high-risk leukemia including those with relapsed or refractory disease. She leads a translational leukemia research laboratory that uses a variety of approaches to identify new therapeutic targets, develop preclinical models of disease, and test novel therapeutic agents in cell lines and mouse models. Amanda Marma Perak

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology) and Preventive Medicine (Epidemiology)

Dr. Perak is committed to preventing cardiovascular diseases (e.g., heart attack) by promoting optimal health from the beginning of life. Her research centers on defining and intervening at the origins of cardiometabolic function. Specific areas of focus include molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular health development (e.g., microbiome), maternal-fetal cardiometabolic health, and behavioral intervention. Her clinical and teaching interests are in preventive cardiology and noninvasive cardiac imaging.

Sanghee Kim

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Kim is a pediatric hospitalist at Lurie Children's. Her clinical interests include general pediatric patients including care of hospitalized children, care coordination, and sedation services.

Anna Fishbein

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Allergy and Immunology)

Children with atopic (allergic) diseases often worsen at night and suffer from sleep disturbances. Our team identified that over 3 million school aged children in the US suffer from sleep disturbance related to their eczema. We are now working to uncover the reason eczema worsens at night. Ultimately we plan to develop new approaches in treating allergic disease, while focusing on outcomes important to our patients and their families. We welcome collaborators and families who are interested in participating in our research studies.

My primary interest in pediatric liver disease and liver transplantation is the immune mechanism of neonatal liver disease, in particular gestational alloimmune liver disease (GALD) and biliary atresia. Through clinical research on outcomes in GALD and laboratory research on the mechanism of disease, our group has made a significant impact that has advanced the care of infants and mothers affected by GALD. Ashley S Plant

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. Plant is currently an attending physician in neuro-oncology at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Assistant Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine with a research focus on translational research and early clinical trial development for pediatric brain tumors. Currently, pediatric brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in childhood now surpassing leukemia, the most common pediatric cancer. Many children diagnosed with malignant brain tumors face a dismal prognosis at diagnosis with minimal effective treatments available. ...
