Alanna Higgins Joyce

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine) and Medical Education

I am a hospital-based pediatrician and the Pediatric Clerkship Director for the Feinberg School Of Medicine 3rd-year medical students. Interests include medical education and curriculum, mentoring and advising, inpatient general pediatrics and newborn medicine.

Mary Eileen McBride

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology) and Medical Education

Clinically, I am a pediatric cardiac intensivist and I care for children of all ages with congenital and acquired heart disease who require critical care. Academically, I focus on medical education through the teaching and learning of students, trainees, staff and faculty. Through this work, I use simulation as my primary medium as well as small and large group didactic sessions in teaching cardiac physiology, resuscitation, communication, teamwork, feedback and coaching.

Lazaro N Sanchez-Pinto

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care) and Preventive Medicine (Health and Biomedical Informatics)

Dr. L. Nelson Sanchez-Pinto is a pediatric critical care physician, biomedical informatics specialist, and clinical data scientist. He graduated from medical school at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2006, and then completed a Pediatrics residency program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in 2011, and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in 2014. Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care)

I am a physician-scientist who specializes in pediatric critical care medicine. I received my MD from the University of Washington and completed my Residency in Pediatrics and Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Northwestern University. I joined the faculty in the Pediatric Critical Care Division in 2011.

Seema K Shah

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care) and School of Law

Seema K. Shah, JD, Associate Professor in Pediatrics at Northwestern University Medical School and an Associate Director of the Bioethics Program at Lurie Children’s Hospital, is an expert in the fields of pediatrics and global health research ethics, as well as on ethical issues in the determination of death. After attending Stanford University, Shah completed a fellowship in bioethics at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center. Dr. Tan is Professor of Pediatrics at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, and a Pediatric Infectious Diseases attending; Medical Director of the International Patient Services Program (IPS); co-Director of the Pediatric Travel Medicine Clinic; and Director of the International Adoptee Clinic at Ann & Robert H. Elizabeth A Sokol

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

I received my medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine in 2011, prior to completing my Pediatrics residency at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. I completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in 2017 and a post-doctoral fellowship Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics in 2018 at the University of Chicago. I subsequently became a member of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology division at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in 2018.

Alan M Krensky

Professor of Pediatrics (Nephrology) and Microbiology-Immunology

We study the role of RANTES, a chemokine, and granulysin, a proinflammatory molecule in health and diseases, including cancer, infection, transplantation and autoimmunity.

Mahima Keswani

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Nephrology)

Mahima Keswani, MD, is a Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She serves as the Medical Director of Dialysis for the Division of Nephrology.  She received her B.A. in Biology from Rutgers University, and her M.D. degree from the Rutgers School of BIomedical and Health Sciences (formerly University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). Dr. Keswani completed her residency in Pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC and her fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, MA.
