Cynthia E Castiglioni

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Cynthia Castiglioni completed her undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame and received her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh. Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition)

I am a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist with advanced training in intestinal rehabilitation, hepatology and transplant, and my clinical activities are divided across these areas. I work with wonderful colleagues in the Lurie Intestinal Rehab and Transplant Program, who provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care to patients with short gut syndrome and associated disorders, including those that require bowel transplantation. Sonali Chaudhury

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr Chaudhury is the section head of Pediatric stem cell transplant and cellular therapy. She serves on several collaborative study groups and in leadership roles at the PTCTC and COG. Her special focus is clinical trials involving transplantation and cellular therapy strategies to reduce toxicities and improve outcomes; especially  stem cell transplants for non-malignant disorders; and Pediateric Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.

As medical director for the Institute for Sports Medicine (ISM) at Lurie Children’s since 2004, I have extensive experience caring for children and adolescents with sports-related injuries. I have served as team physician for high school, college, elite, and professional teams. I am currently the team physician for DeLaSalle high school, Moody Bible Institute, North Side Youth Football League, and the USA Rhythmic Gymnastics team. Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics

I am interested in Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema) and alternative medicines. We have created a center called the Chicago Integrative Eczema Center that is devoted to taking care of patients with eczema and their families, with an emphasis on education about the disease. I am also very interested in connective tissue diseases such as lupus and dermatomyositis. I am a medical acupuncturist and am interested in alternative medical approaches to dermatologic diseases. Finally, I am interested in medical student and resident education.

Matthew F Barhight

I completed my BA in Biology from Williams College in 2005. Afterwards, I worked in a neurobiology lab at Harvard University as a research assistant. I then completed my MD from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2012. I then completed my pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in 2015. There I began my research interest in acute kidney injury (AKI). I continued developing my interset in AKI during my critical care fellowship at Children's Hospital Colorado and graduated in 2018.
