Rudy J Allen

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

My clinical interest is the treatment of childhood cancer, particularly tumors affecting the central nervous system. I also have particular interest in brain tumor survivorship, including the diagnosis and treatment of long term effects of therapy for childhood central nervous system tumors.  I have a strong interest in quality and safety improvement as Medical Director of the 17th Floor Inpatient Unit as well as the Ambulatory Infusion Center.

Courtney Anne Finlayson

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Endocrinology)

I am a pediatric endocrinologist with a specific interest in differences of sex development and puberty. I serve as the endocrinologist for the Gender & Sex Development Program, a multi-disciplinary program caring for children with differences in sex development and for those who are gender non-conforming. My research interests are in improving care for those with differences in sex development and those who are gender non-conforming, with an emphasis on fertility preservation for these populations.

Kelly L Cox

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology)

I am an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and an attending physician in Cardiology at Lurie Children’s Hospital. I completed my general pediatric training at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. I completed my clinical cardiology training at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University Medical Center, followed by completion of non-invasive cardiac imaging training. 

Robert Garofalo

Professor of Pediatrics (Adolescent Medicine) and Preventive Medicine

My primary clinical and research activities relate to the care of marginalized youth populations including HIV+ and LGBT young people. Our research is largely HIV prevention in nature, mostly targeting either young men who have sex with men or transgender individuals. A new area of research and clinical interest involves working with young gender variant children and families

Debra Weese-Mayer

Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care)

Debra E. Weese-Mayer, M.D. is the Beatrice Cummings Mayer Professor in Pediatric Autonomic Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Chief of the first Center for Autonomic Medicine in Pediatrics (CAMP) at Lurie Children’s Hospital. Dr. Weese-Mayer is recognized internationally for her clinical and research work in the emerging discipline of pediatric autonomic medicine and is a lead translational researcher at Ann & Robert H. Sriram Ramgopal

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine)

As an attending physician in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, I seek to obtain expertise with data science and machine learning methodologies to better elucidate phenotypic characteristics and more precisely identify interventions in the pediatric acute care setting. I derive satisfaction from treating pediatric patients with acute care conditions in the pediatric emergency department in a team with residents, nurse practitioners, and nurses. Kristin Kan

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care)

Dr. Kan's relationships with families and partnerships with communities, as a primary care pediatrician and health services researcher, motivate her to improve our scientific understanding of health services delivery for children with special health care needs (CSHCN) and to build cross-sectoral solutions to support children and their families.

Sheetal R Patel

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology)

My clinical interests include congenital heart disease and cardiac imaging including pediatric and fetal echocardiography. My specific interest include prenatal diagnosis and mangamement of congenital heart disease, managment, care of patients with single ventricle cardiac defects and Fontan palliation, as well as cardiac management of patients with Turner Syndrome. In my role as an Inteim-director of the Fetal Cardiac Program, I work closely with the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health to provide perinatal cardiology expertise. Isabelle G De Plaen

Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology)

Isabelle De Plaen, MD, is an attending physician in the Division of Neonatology (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at Lurie Children’s, Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and the co-director of the Center for Intestinal and Liver Inflammation Research at Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute.
